Panchayats have been the backbone of the Indian villages since the beginning of the recorded history. Gandhi's dream of every village being a republic or Panchayats having powers has been translated into reality with the introduction of three-tier system to enlist people's participation in rural reconstruction. 24th April, 1993 was a landmark day in the history of Panchayati Raj in India as on this day the Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act, 1992 came into force to provide constitutional status to the Panchayati Raj institutions. The study was conducted in Haryana state. The sample of 200 women respondents was selected from four villages of Fatehabad district through systematic random sampling techniques. The socio-economic profile of respondents indicates that maximum number of the respondents hailed from young age group, illiterate or less educated. Age and education of the respondents were found highly significantly associated with level of awareness regarding women reservation in panchayati raj. Keywords

Panchayati Raj System is best suited to our rural needs and administration. It is aright step towards devaluation and decentralization of power. It deserves all help and encouragement as it is a truly representative and democratic system. As a fit and effective instrument of self-governance, it is matchless. Now, Panchayati Raj institutions are theremalmost all the lndian States with three tier arrangement at village block and distinct levels. The present study was conducted in Fatehabad district of Haryana. Therefore 200 respondents constituted the sample for the study. The findings indicated that the respondents who were highly exposed to mass-media had high level awareness as compared to those who were less exposed. The maximum numbers of the respondents had low level of social participation. This group of respondents had low awareness than the respondents who belonged to high social participation group. If social participation level of the respondents increases the awareness among respondents also increases. Keywords

Suicide means of taking ones Hfe. Emile Durkheim, the first to study suicide systematically, distinguished three different types, depending on what motivates the act of self-destruction: altruistic, anomic and egoistic.Durkhetm's classification system altruistic suicide based on sacrificing oneself for the good for others. The soldiers who hurts himself upon a grenade to save others, and ritual suicide, such as hara-kiri, intended to save ones family from shame, are classic examples. Anomic suicide that results, m Durkheim's analysis, from the sense that life no longer has meaning, from a sense of anomie, loneliness, isolation, and loss of contact with the norms and values of society also called norm less suicide. In Durkheim's classification system, egoistic suicide resulting from a sense of deep personal failure, a feeling that one is personally responsible for not living up to societal and personal expectation. SuicidehasbeendeclaredamajorheathproblemmtheUnitedStates by the Surgeon General, David Satche(1999). He noted that the suicide rate among children has doubled since 1980 and that the elderly account for one m five suicides. Although countries around the world have different overall rates of suicide, this increase m suicide rate seems to hold true worldwide. In most countries, the young adult's group seems to be at the widest risk. In Denmark and Japan countries with different cultural histories, suicide is the number one cause of death amount 25-34 years old age and account for 30% of all deaths among 25% of among women. Keywords

Milk and dairy products have significant importance to human nutrition during different stages of life but they can also act as vehicle for spread of various milk-borne diseases. India is a developing country and faces greater challenges m this aspect due to poor knowledge of processing or storage of dairy products which is responsible for transmission of a number of milk-borne zoonotic diseases viz., tuberculosis, brucellosis, salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis etc. These diseases pose severe threat to human life and some of them could be fatal as well. There is a need to detect these pathogens which can transmit due to insufficient pasteurization of milk or milk products or through post-pasteurization contamination, m order to successfully avoid transmission of these diseases. Proper pasteurization, surveillance and pubHc awareness about milk borne zoonotic diseases can contribute significantly m reducing incidence of these diseases. This review highlights the important milk borne diseases and their remedy for control and prevention of these diseases. Keywords

Cow milk is a source of micro-nutrients required for good health. Now a days, a new debate on type of milk and its possible effect on human health has started, some people says that A2 milk is more beneficial for health than Al milk. As the milk and milk products are essential components of human diet, hence the present paper reviews studies conducted on type of milk and human health. Al allele is more frequent in exotic cattle while Indian breeds of cattle and buffaloes have A2 allele. Some of the studies on consumption pattern of Al/A2 beta-casein and human health have shown that A2 milk is beneficial for health; however, more detailed investigations are required to prove the hypothesis that Al milk could facilitate the immunological process that leads to health problems in humans. Keywords
